If you are a fan of both DIRECTV HD and Major League Baseball (MLB), and want the best seat in the house without leaving home, you are in for a treat this fall.
DIRECTV have announced that they will carry both FOX and Turner Broadcasting (TBS) HD broadcasts of the postseason MLB 2007 games. As well as those games, DIRECTV will also offer FOX Sports' coverage of the American League Championship Series and the 2007 World Series in HD.
TBS in HD is scheduled to launch on DIRECTV in September and for the first time ever will feature exclusive broadcasts of the MLB Division Series and National League Championship Series.
Pioneer have recently announced that they will be introducing a new Blu Ray Disc Player - the BDP-LX80, onto the Japanese market in late October 2007.

Sony have announced the introduction of three new BRAVIA® flat-panel LCD, full HD models to their W3000 series. With an elegant and sophisticated brushed metal picture frame bezel, the new models will be available in three sizes -

- 46 inch KDL-46W3000
- 40 inch KDL-40W3000
On the technical front, all models are full HD 1080p and feature Live Color Creation™ technology with WCG-CCFL backlight. Utilising 10-bit processing and a 10-bit panel, the new W-3000 range has the capability to deliver 64 times the level of color expression that an 8 bit panel could give. This in turn should give a smoother transition between colors and more natural, accurate reproduction of subtle on screen color changes.
Samsung have launched, what claims to be the world's largest, commercially available, full high definition LCD TV.
Measuring in at 70 inches, the new TV is backlit by light emitting diode (LED) instead of the conventional CCFL or cold cathode fluorescent lamp. Making use of Samsung's unique local dimming technology, the LED backlight can be turned off in dark image areas, thus providing a dynamic contrast ratio in the region of 500,000:1.
The availability of the next generation of Blu-Ray disc player has recently been announced by Panasonic.
As well as playing pre recorded Blu-Ray discs, the DMP-BD10A also plays standard defintion DVD's and CD's. Conventional DVD's play with automatic 1080p up-conversion via the HDMI connector.
On the audio front, the Panasonic DMP-BD10A features an upgrade package that brings high end surround audio to the viewing experience via the inclusion of 7.1 channel Dolby Surround, True HD and dts-HD High Resolution Audio decoding technology.
Panasonic's proprietary EZ-SyncTM system for integrated one touch operation of Panasonic home theater components is incorporated into the DMP-BD10A. During it's initial introduction and for a limited time, the player also comes bundled with five hit Blu-ray discs.
