<p>Toshiba Corporation have unveiled the future of home video entertainment in an age of digital, high definition content: the world&#039;s first digital hard disk video recorder integrating a recordable HD DVD in combination with a 1-terabyte (TB) hard disk. The new &#034;RD-A1&#034; can record and store up to 130 hours*3 of high-definition (HD) broadcasts on its high capacity hard disk and record up to 230 minutes of HD content to a single HD DVD disc. In addition to superb image and sound recording and playback, the new recorder also offers an extensive range of advanced functions made possible by the versatility of HD DVD, including optimized navigation and menu displays. The RD-A1 is scheduled for roll out in the Japanese market from July 14.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Toshiba will launch the first HD DVD recorder next month in Japan, it said Thursday.</p>
<p>Toshiba&#039;s announcement of an HD DVD recorder comes as the first player for the rival Blu-ray Disc format is launched, and is sure to raise competition a notch in an already competitive market. Toshiba put its first HD DVD player on sale in Japan in March.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>LG brings on its HD-DVD laptop, the LG Xnote S1-P555K that is said to be a Core Duo PC, with a 15.1&#034; LCD (1680&#215;1050), ATI X1600 (256MV of VRAM), Video Out Component, and of course an HD-DVD player.  You may not see this in a store near you anytime soon, but it&#039;s good to see that there&#039;s more and more HD-DVD laptops to choose from as the year rolls on.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[<p>Verbatim® Corporation, and its parent company, Mitsubishi Kagaku Media (Verbatim/MKM), announced today that retailers in Japan will receive shipments of the industry’s first 15GB HD DVD-R media early in July. Production of 30GB dual layer HD DVD-R media will begin in June. Shipments to other parts of the world will begin when hardware products supporting these recordable formats become available. Verbatim/MKM is also expected to be first to market with HD DVD-RW rewriteable media, as soon as the official specification is released.</p>
