Czech Panasonic set to double TV set output in 2006

Plzen, June 21 (CTK) – Panasonic AVC Networks Czech said today it wanted to double the production of TV sets this year.

The company plans to produce 2.2 million flat-screen TV sets in the fiscal year from April 2006 to end of March 2007.

PDP TV sets will make up more than half of the number, and the rest will be LCD screens, said spokesman Jaroslav Soucek.

In the 2005/2006 fiscal year, the company produced almost 0.5 million plasma TV sets, almost 400,000 LCD sets and the same number of vacuum TV tubes whose production it ended in March.
