LG. Philips LCD Co. said yesterday its new back-end module production plant broke ground in Wroclaw, Poland, and will boost its market share in the fast-growing European liquid crystal display TV market.
It is the first production base in Europe, the global LCD panel maker said.

The company plans to start mass production at the plant in March next year with an initial capacity of three million modules per year. It projects that the new plant to reach a production capacity of 11 million units per year by 2011.
