Digital television service provider DirecTV Group Inc. said Wednesday it plans to expand its national operations center in Denver early next year, adding up to 1,000 new jobs in the area.

The facility will be the center of sales and service support to the company's customers. DirecTV said it will begin hiring employees for its call center in late 2006.

DirecTV did not disclose financial details.
