Nikon UK have announced the introduction of the D2xs professional digital SLR camera, following the success of the award-winning Nikon D2x. Panasonic Corporation of North America  have announced the availability of its first digital single-lens reflex (SLR) camera with an interchangeable lens, the DMC-L1, in the United States .  The camera comes equipped with a LEICA D VARIO-ELMARIT lens featuring the industry's first optical image stabilization system MEGA O.I.S designed specifically for the Leica lens.

PENTAX have  announced the availablity of the PENTAX K100D, which combines 6.1 effective megapixels with a host of advanced technologies including a Shake Reduction (SR) system to deliver high-quality digital SLR photography and user-friendly operation to all levels of photographers.

Pentax have announced the new K10D Digital SLR Camera which boasts 10.2 megapixels together with Pentax developed Shake Reduction and a weather resistant body. Weather resistance is achieved by the incorporation of some 72 special seals on the camera body including the shutter release button.
