Philips DVP3140 Region Free DVD Player
The Philips DVP3140 is a Region Free DVD Player with a built in PAL to NTSC
video converter, which will allow you to view PAL formatted discs on a standard US or Canadian NTSC television. The
DVP3140 will also still play NTSC format DVD discs.
Multi-format playability allows you to play most disc formats for maximum disc compatibility and viewing
pleasure. The slim Philips DVP3140 Progressive Scan DVD Player, can play CD, DVD, CD-R, SVCD, CD-RW, DVD+R, DVD-R,
DVD+RW, DVD-RW, Video CD, Kodak Picture CD, DivX, MP3, PCM and WMA.
Progressive Scan doubles the vertical resolution of the image resulting in a noticeably sharper picture. Instead
of sending a field comprising the odd lines to the screen first, followed by the field with the even lines, both
fields are written at one time. A full image is created instantaneously, using the maximum resolution. At such a
speed, your eye perceives a sharper picture with no line structure.
DivX playback allows playback of DivX, AVI and MPEG4 compressed files downloaded from the Internet to your
personal computer and stored on a CD-R/RW discs.
