The Akai DVD-P5851 is a Multi Region DVD Player with Progressive Scan and a Built In PAL to NTSC Video Converter, which will allow playback of any DVD from anywhere in the world on to a US or Canadian NTSC Television

The Akai DVD-P5851 is a slim and stylish automatic voltage sensing (for Worldwide Use) DVD player with Dolby Digital DTS and 5.1 Surround Sound channel output. It will play any PAL or NTSC format disc from any Region on any television - either PAL or NTSC. No need to enter any 'Secret Codes' to turn it into a multi region player as it will work straight out of the box and play any format disc utilising it's built in Video Converter.

The Akai DVD-P5851 will play a multitude of formats including MP3 music files on CD, Video CD, Audio CD and of course DVD. It also has a built in Karaoke facility as well.
